Railside is going to be a real original. A steel and bricks depot-like destination for city dwellers ready to depart convention and be part of a place that’s a little more interesting.

It’ll be a mix of 180-plus residential units mostly facing the railroad (Yep, it really is railside), with retail and commercial space bringing a once-dead street side back to life.

What makes this new Castleberry Hill loft development such a welcome arrival to the intown Atlanta residential scene? Hop on for a little tour of the Railside highlights.

Human-scale, not huge
Railside will be built in four phases—four separate low-slung buildings, each with it’s own identity. Not some big monolith. More like the beginnings of a quaint new town sprung up right there at the station from the raw materials transported by the Norfolk Southern line.

A scenic stroll
Every city dweller - especially the four-legged variety - craves a little greenspace now and then. Railside will include a neat little grassy, tree-lined park, the perfect place for a scenic stroll along the tracks.

Authentic aesthetics
Railside is gonna look just like you’d want a railside place to look. Long, low to the ground, built from different colors of steel and brick. A mix of modern and old industrial. Like a train depot, it’ll bring people together, with a courtyard, a tree-lined trackside walking trail, and street-front retail.

Green – like really green
Not your typical checklist of “green” building methods and features. We‘re working on some common-sense but all too uncommon environmentally-wise features for Railside. Like re-use of gray water, a system to use rain water for irrigation, and energy saving glass that is also a sound buffer.

Affordable and diverse
Our goal is to make Railside a place for both the software designer and the schoolteacher, the art collector and the starving artist. It’s a challenge to the traditional economics of development, but it’s a new tradition we believe is important to make happen.
